Today, I want to share with you my favorite chain difference – the 1 8 3 32 Chain Difference. This technique is so easy and it really makes your pages stand out!

Here’s how it works: take any two pieces of paper (I usually use 12×12 inch sheets) and cut them into eight equal strips. Then, take three of those strips and adhere them together at the top with a bit of adhesive. Next, take the remaining five strips and adhere them together at the bottom with a bit of adhesive.

Finally, connect the three strips at the top to the five strips at the bottom using a length of ribbon or twine. That’s it! I love this technique because it adds interest and dimension to your pages without being too busy or overwhelming.

I’ve recently discovered a new type of puzzle that is really giving my brain a workout – the 1 8 3 32 chain difference puzzle. This puzzle is based on a simple concept: you are given a chain of numbers, and your goal is to find the difference between each pair of adjacent numbers. So, for example, if the chain was 4 7 2 9, your task would be to find the differences between 4 and 7, 7 and 2, and 2 and 9.

In this case, those differences would be 3 (4-7), 5 (7-2), and 7 (9-2). The challenge comes in when the chains get longer – as in the 1 8 3 32 chain above. In this case, finding the differences between each pair of adjacent numbers gets much more difficult – especially when some of those numbers are very large!

But don’t worry, there’s a trick to it. Here’s how it works: start by finding the difference between the first two numbers in the chain (1 and 8 in our example). Then take that difference (in this case 7) and subtract it from the next number in the chain (3).

The result is your next difference (-4). Continue in this way until you reach the end of the chain. So our final answer for this particular chain would be 3 (-4), 5 (+1), 27 (+24), 6 (-21).
